Lanyards as a fashion accessory for college students
For students at Augustana College in Sioux, South Dakota, neck lanyards are not only a useful tool for carrying student IDs, they are also a fashion accessory.
“Lanyards have invaded the student world,” the Augustana Mirror recently wrote.
Students are using lanyards to secure their nametags, badges, plastic ID cards, keys and other items organized.
But beyond their obvious function, students are also using colorful lanyards to add a little flair to their outfits. Many students prefer to wear lanyards that reflect their personal style, pairing certain colors with their outfit they for the day.
They can also be used as marketing tools. The Mirror states that lanyards are ideal for printing logos, mottos and promotional material.
“I think it is a good idea to print your ad on a lanyard,” said Augusta College sophomore Amy Konietzko. “I personally have two lanyards with the Augustana logo.
While companies and college clubs may try to get some cheap advertising out of their lanyards, the most popular logo among Augustana students is simply “Augustana College.”
