Evolis recently released two new industrial printers
Evolis recently announced the release of two new printers designed with capabilities for industrial printing and mass-production of ID cards.
The Evolis Quantum single and double-sided card printers are equipped with 1000 feeders, hoppers and card printer ribbons for industrial production of plastic ID cards. The features make the new printers capable of producing thousands of cards per hour. The printers combine capabilities for printing ID badges with added text, logos, photos, graphics, and bar codes with magnetic stripe encoding for printing contactless smart cards.
Evolis developed its printer to provide a simple plastic card printing solution to its customers. The printer is equipped with a cooling system to allow unmonitored continuous printing, and has a feature that ejects and automatically reprints any defective cards without the attention of an operator.
The new technology for mass-producing contactless smart cards comes as more government transportation departments are implementing large volumes of smart cards for their public transportation users. Transit authorities in New York City and South Africa have recently joined this growing volume.
