Mac operating systems can now connect to Evolis plastic ID card printers
New drivers for plastic card printers now allow insitutions using Mac OS X operating systems to connect to Evolis’ line of ID card printers.
Before the introduction of the new drivers, only Microsoft operating system users could connect to Evolis ID card printers, restricting organizations that use Macs or other operating systems from plastic card printing. The Evolis ID card printers have features like monochrome, full color and high-volume printing, with the capacity to print up to 150 cards per hour.
The move to connect Evolis plastic card printers to different operating systems opens up an opportunity to access the growing market of Apple users that need custom ID card printing tools. The inclusion of different operating systems to the capabilities of Evolis ID card printers opens up the market for in-house ID card printing, which is becoming a priority among large organizations, to institutions and businesses that strictly use Mac operating systems.
Evolis’ extension to Mac users is another move to improve its offerings. Earlier this month, the company released a new line of single and double sided card printers designed for producing high volumes of ID cards.
