A Colorado Senator recently spoke about the need for biometric ID cards to prevent illegal immigration into the U.S.
Speaking about controversial illegal immigration legislation in Arizona, a candidate for senate in Colorado stressed the need for biometric ID cards for the country’s immigrants.
Ken Buck issued a speech in Sterling, Colorado about the importance of boosting security measures on the country’s borders, among other topics. Buck spoke in favor of Arizona’s recent immigration policy in trying to solve illegal immigration issues, and expressed hope for the future of immigration in the country. One way to accomplish a secure immigration policy, Buck explained, was through the creation of a biometric ID card for immigrants coming into the country.
"We need a biometric card, so we have retinal scan or some other biometric information that identifies this person can work at this job, for this period of time," he said. "When we do that, when we accomplish securing the border and getting labor into this country to meet our labor needs, then we start talking about what do we do with the illegal immigrants that are in this country."
Biometric tools are becoming a common solution to illegal immigration in the country. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Utah recently implemented a new biometric identification system to locate illegal aliens who have been caught for multiple offenses.
