Magnetic stripes are the black or brown strips you see on the back of your credit card. Also called magstripes, they can be found on the reverse side of identification cards, driver’s licenses, library cards, gift cards, and membership cards. Hybrid or combo cards refer to smart cards that contain two or more embedded chip technologies such as a contactless smart chip with its antenna, a contact smart chip with its contact pads, and/or a proximity chip with its antenna -- all in a single card.
